Boring short post!

Saturday 6th March

Just a brief post to say that we are at sea, studying, listening to lectures and meeting with family.

It has been a very, very hot day. We sat out on deck having a hamburger lunch and smoothies (I'm a convert!) with Heather, Katie, Kirsten and MengNeng and hearing about their experiences in Vietnam and plans for India. We have decided at our next meeting after India to have an un-birthday cake to celebrate all our birthdays whenever they are. They make the most delicious cakes on the ship so we thought how can we get one and this was our joint creative solution!

We are all relieved to be almost out of the Straits....the ship really speeded up at the narrowest point last night to well over 20 knots. At the moment we're doing just over 11 in very calm warm seas. We are seeing lots of other ships and fishing boats too. Apparently they fish about 5 miles from land if the weather is good. They look so small but are all regarded with some suspicion if they appear to be approaching us.

Off to join George on our balcony and watch the stars and the ship lights out at sea. Nice to know we're not alone.

Tomorrow is Olympics day on board so must rest up to judge the relay race!! That's my sole contribution!
