Struggling on....with the blog!

I feel so bad that i am not really able to do justice to my blog these days. If anyone has experienced this change of format let me know what you have done to correct it please.

Athol Fugard's play was powerful and the theatre beautifully and thoughtfully designed...and the tickets only $ 12.00! All theatre should be like this, accessible to evryone regardless of income.

The play, The Train Driver seemed to be an analogy for South Africa and all its many problems. Two characters, one black and one white male. Setting was a graveyard for un-named bodies. It portrays the distress and trauma of a white train driver who looked into the eyes of a woman with a baby who took her own life and her baby's by standing in front of the train he could not stop. it showa the relationshi p which evelops between him and the grave digger who lives in a shack on site.

It was great to meet up at the theatre with Jo and Chris. Our trip afterwards to a oisy and crowded Mama Africa restaurant was less fun as we had to wait over an hour for our booked table. Finally a confrontation between me and a taxi driver who swore he had been sent by Rikkis to pick us up. He didn't know where to take us or how much we owed for the day so i had to ask everyone to get out. He was not a happy camper! Rikkis did eventually come and return us to the ship.

I shall try to publish this before writing any more. More on our stay at franschhoek and visit to my old school tomorrow..
